Showcase Interiors (now trading as just Showcase) was founded in 2007 by Nigel and Emma Boreham in a buy out from Claremont Group Interiors.
For the first 3 years of trading, Nigel and a small team of staff continued to manage the automotive contracts bought over from Claremont as well as acquiring new automotive business in 2009. However, the real growth began once their London based commercial furniture department was established in 2010 (Led by John James (sales director), where the first major contract they secured was to provide a procurement & specification service to Nomura for their new European Head Quarters accommodating 4300 staff. They have since won further contracts with well-known corporations including VW Financial Services, Mercedes Benz, The Kennel Club, Clifford Chance, SMMT, UTC Aerospace, XLN Telecom and a well-known Global Professional Services Firm to name a few! Showcase’s proven procurement model has successfully delivered amazing results for clients and continues to do so!
It was Showcase’s growth from 2012 to 2014 that caught the eye of the Fast Track 100 research team. From 2012 to the end of 2014’s financial year the business grew by a phenomenal 319% from £4.6 million pound turnover to £14.7m. Today they are predicting that by the end of 2015’s financial year they will have grown this further to £21m. In support of this huge growth there has been a significant recruitment drive with staff members increasing from 8 in 2012 to 36 as of today. 6 of these appointments were brought on board to establish a new AV department headed up by Ben Collings, set up in July 2014 Showcase AVi is going from strength to strength and contributing to the financial success of the Showcase group.
The AV department focusses on providing high quality AV solutions for both permanent installations and the live events market. Its unique selling point is delivering a full technical production solution to organisers of a range of live events, from Cancer Research outdoor fundraising events to gala dinners for 1,000 people. Most recently in a joint project they installed Europe’s largest indoor LED screen, measuring 19m high at Audi West London as part of a refurbishment project Showcase were carrying out.
The 36 members of staff are well treated, Emma Boreham (HR & Operations Director) arranges the annual conferences, each spring the team are taken to a European destination for a couple of days primarily for a company conference, but also to have an opportunity to relax and bond with their colleagues. This winter they will be invited to attend a Stately home that has been privately hired for an annual conference followed by an evening celebration in opulent surroundings.
Operationally Showcase run a tight ship, having achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and most recently achieved OHAS 18001 a world recognised system for managing health and safety in the workplace.
Their 87th ranking is a remarkable achievement for a privately run business who set up just prior to the recession. Some savvy business decisions, key staff appointments and a business offering focussed on high end, quality products and services have all contributed to the success of Showcase. The outlook for 2016 is also looking positive having just secured a £10m furniture procurement contract with a World renowned Banking Organisation. Showcase hopes this won’t be the last time they are featured on the Fast Track leader board!
Nigel Boreham, Managing Director of Showcase comments “We are always excited by a new contract we have won, a new deal brokered etc but we are so thrilled about being placed on this year’s Fast Track 100. We knew we were getting some phenomenal financial results thanks to our great team, some fantastic new commercial contracts and the great work our team has done in the automotive sector, however the phone call from the Fast Track team really took us all by surprise. This is definitely the most significant positive recognition we could receive and I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, manufacturers, my fellow Directors and staff for their continued support.”
